Grateful to be in complete remission and having graduated in Feb 2025 to an annual checkup at the National Cancer Center as a 17-year 2x blood cancer survivor of a hard to cure lymphoma type, I have committed myself this year in doing my 8th half marathon on August 17 in Cleveland, Ohio to fight back to overcome cancer and raise awareness and research funds for cancer treatments benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) with the support of Team In Training (TNT) alongside my best friend Konrad Hernblad (our sixth together!).
Help me achieve my initial $3500 fundraising goal in support of my training and half marathon towards realizing my personal promise to live another 35 years until at least 70 after my diagnosis of a hard to cure blood cancer at 35 years old for the sake of my then 1-year-old son. This year's half marathon is fitting, now having survived 17 years, about half of my goal of surviving another 35 years since my cancer diagnosis!
You can support by making a donation at my Team in Training 2025 fundraising link at https://pages.lls.org/tnt/mry/yourway25/BGonzalvo. There, you can also read about my cancer journey and how Team in Training research funds have directly increased my chances to live a longer life.
My first training since the TNT fundraising launch was with my wife running between our station in Koenji and the next one, Asagaya.
More to come until the half marathon in August!
GO TEAM!
GRATEFUL with HOPE!
